FALLEN ANGELS

Not all Angels follow the will of God. You know where I am going with this, don't you? That's right! Toward that old serpent himself. He is the first sinner fallen from a once elevated status, recalling ealier in this report to go to the Scriptures for a pretty good description of his former glory (Ez 28:12-19). Also mentioned earlier is the fact that that Satan is not all-powerful or all-knowing, but is very limited to what he is allowed to do to mankind. He is definitely, in no way, equal to God whatsoever. Not even an evil equal. What he does have is "power" over other fallen Angels and demons. He is called the "god of this world" (2 Cor. 4:4). This being said, Satan, atleast till such time in the future when his final "fall" will occur, is allowed into Heaven; however, his main place of business is the planet earth. Despite popular beliefs that Satan already resides in Hell, he has not been sent there yet and is, at this time, free to roam the earth at will along with legions of his followers.

The Bible tells us that these dark followers of Satan make up one third of the spirit world (Rev. 12:3-4). These are local spirits who work against God's plan. They cause suffering, false religion, demon possession, associate with materials, and influence people, places, and objects. They do these things on a local scale as they can not be in more than one place at a time. Demons, though exactly what they are is unclear in Scriptures, do have emotion, free will which they exercise, names, and supernatural strength. C. Peter Wagner states that

Satan delegates high-ranking members of the hierarchy of evil spirits to control nations, regions, cities, tribes, people groups, neighborhoods, and other significant networks of human beings throughout the world. Their major assignment is to prevent God from being glorified in their territory, which they do through directing the lower-ranking demons.
